We are pleased to notify you that Derrick J. Washington has accepted ArtStream’s offer to become our new Executive Director. He will take up the reins on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023.

Derrick has made his career in the DMV over the past 16 years in a variety of professional positions in the fields of Education, Social Work, and Human Services. He served most recently as Executive Director of Nova Labs, Inc., a non-profit that provides hands-on learning space where people are encouraged to explore and collaborate with one another on creative and entrepreneurial projects. Derrick not only supervised 500+ “makerspace” members and volunteers, he also cultivated productive relationships with the philanthropic sector, including local, regional, and national organizations and foundations. With two master’s degrees, one in Social Work and the other in Divinity, he brings a new and fresh perspective to ArtStream — one that champions open communications and develops strong collaborative work environments among colleagues.
