A Farewell to Rachael Sutherland: A Chapter Ends, Another Begins

It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to a cherished staff member of ArtStream. After over two years, Rachael Sutherland has decided to embark on a new chapter in her professional journey, and while we are sad to see her go, we are also excited for the bright future that awaits her.

From the very first day Rachael joined the ArtStream staff, her passion, dedication, and unique contributions made an indelible mark on our workplace. Whether it was expanding our class offerings, creating new policies and procedures from scratch, or the day-to-day camaraderie, Rachael brought a special energy to our office that will be sincerely missed.

One of Rachael’s remarkable qualities is her unwavering commitment to excellence and integrity. Her ability to consistently raise the bar, elevate ArtStreamers’ voices, and support her co-workers not only elevated our team but also served as an inspiration to us all.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Rachael played a vital role in fostering a collaborative work culture. Her infectious laughter, warm smiles, and willingness to lend a helping hand created an atmosphere that made everyone feel valued and appreciated by her.

As we say our goodbyes, let’s reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared with Rachael. It’s not just about the goals she achieved, but the friendships she formed and memories she created together with the ArtStreamers. Rachael leaves behind a legacy of hard work and creativity that will undoubtedly resonate with our team for years to come.

To Rachael, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your outstanding contributions to ArtStream. Your time with us has been nothing short of inspiring, and we are confident that your future endeavors will be met with the same success and enthusiasm you brought to our team.

Please join us in extending warm wishes to Rachael as she embarks on this exciting new journey. Rachael’s last day at ArtStream will be on Dec. 29th.

ArtStream: Why do you think ArtStream’s mission is important?

Rachael: ArtStream’s mission is so important as it empowers the greatness already inside our students. In the myriad of classes and companies, our students learn so many life skills through the performing arts the love so much. Watching them blossom in social situations with the confidence they gain inspires me more than they may ever know.

ArtStream: What is the biggest lesson you learned while working at ArtStream?

Rachael: Listen to understand, not respond.

ArtStream: What is one of your most heartwarming memories at ArtStream?

Rachael: It’s so hard to choose just one memory, but I would have to say during my first Gala in 2021, how electric the Zoom felt once the DJ played Michael Jackson. If we had been in person, the room would have erupted with excitement. In that moment, I felt so much love and was so honored to serve this community. Also, (selfishly) meeting Ravi Jesrani for the first time; we were immediately old friends!

ArtStream: If you could give one last word of encouragement to the ArtStreamers, what would it be?

Rachael: Go for it! Take the class you may not normally take; learn that monologue or song; audition for that company! Being nervous or even scared is normal, but sometimes the best reward is on the other side of the thing that scares us. The ArtStream community of past, present, and future will always cheer you on!
