ArtStream believes in Theatre for an Inclusive World. Here are the amazing actors, directors, designers, and volunteer mentors who perfrom, learn and belong.
Susan P. Adams
Susan P. Adams is an actor from Rockville, MD. She was born and raised in Denver, CO. Susan has been acting with ArtStream since the beginning! Previously, she performed at Imagination Stage. Professionally, Susan does clerical work with Holy Cross Hospital and is an aide at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington. She enjoys chatting with the residents at Hebrew Home and making sure that they have what they need. Susan’s hobbies include dance, Zumba, and pottery. She also loves jigsaw puzzles. “Thanks to all my friends at ArtStream and all my friends at Target Community and Educational Services.”
Claire Alrich is a freelance dance artist, costume designer, and educator in Washington, DC. In addition to working with the lovely folks at ArtStream, Claire is a dancer with Darling Dance company, a teacher with Local Motion Project, and the Program and Outreach Manager for the National Fund for the U.S. Botanic Garden. Claire is also a 2017 recipient of an artist fellowship grant through the DC Council of the Arts and Humanities.
Julie Bain Miller
Julie Bain Miller (Director) is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC where she focused on Musical Theater Performance. After graduation, she spent five years creating, producing and performing in productions with the Rising Sun Performance Company in lower Manhattan. Here in Maryland, Julie has performed with Rockville Musical Theatre as Gladys in The Pajama Game and Pam in Baby. She can currently be seen performing all over the region as part of the acapella group, Drop The Mic. A proud member of the ArtStream community since 2008, Julie has worked as an actor, assistant director, choreographer, Inclusive Theater Company Director, class instructor and now a cabaret director! Ian Bannon (Mentor) began as a mentor at ArtStream in 2017. He is a Senior Docent at the Folger Shakespeare Library and works in various Folger education programs including Shakespeare School Festivals, Shakespeare-Steps-Out (with DC Public Schools) and Shakespeare-in-Action Workshops. He also volunteers at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC. “Our ArtStream actors are truly amazing, especially their incredible talent and spirit.” Ian Bannon (Mentor) Ian Bannon began as a mentor at ArtStream in 2017. Madeleine Barry is a local DC director and theatre educator. Since her graduation from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, she has been both an assistant director and an assistant teacher with ArtStream. Last season she became the director of Gaithersburg Inclusive Theatre Company B. In addition to her work with ArtStream, Madeleine is a teacher and inclusion facilitator with Imagination Stage, and a director and teacher with Theatre Lab’s Life Stories Programs, where she works with people of many different backgrounds. Her greatest hope is to create a platform for people to express themselves through the arts.
Suzan Basoglu (Inspector Watts) is a 34-year-old actor from Clifton, VA. She has been with ArtStream for 11 years. Suzan also performed at George Mason University as Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ and as a Lion in The Lion King. Suzan volunteers at the Fairfax Department of Parks and Recreation. She enjoys bowling, swimming and tennis as well as the 2 book clubs that she participates. “Best of luck to all my cast mates in this year’s production.”
Shelley Belgard is a 45-year-old actor. She was born in Houston, TX, and now makes her home in Rockville, MD with her husband Bill. Shelley began acting in high school and has been a member of ArtStream since its founding. Shelley’s past experiences include Imagination Stage (formerly Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts), Peter Pan, Jesus Christ Superstar at American University, and Midsummer’s Night’s Dream at the Shakespeare Theater. Shelley works in the mail-room at the American Gastroenterology Association. Shelley also enjoys karate, Special Olympics track and field, and Special Olympics bowling! “Sending a big thank you to ArtStream staff and volunteers and wishing all my friends in the cast to break a leg!”
Tyler Brown is twenty-seven years old and is from Rockville, Maryland. He auditioned with ArtStream after graduating high school and has been with Gaithersburg Company A ever since. Tyler is a “Helping Hands” associate at Wegmans and has been employed there since 2016. His favorite hobby is building Legos. Tyler is currently learning French and plans to travel to Europe this summer. “I’d like to thank my parents, friends, and ArtStream family for supporting and inspiring me.”
Caitlin M Caplinger
Caitlin M Caplinger (Assistant Director, Winnifred Harrington) is a freelance director, playwright, and theatre practitioner in Washington, DC. They have assistant directed with ArtStream’s ITC for the past three seasons, and teaches classes such as Shakespeare, Improv, and Super Social Saturdays. Caplinger serves full time as the External Engagement Associate for CulturalDC, a DC arts non-profit. Caitlin was proud to present their first full- length play, Riot Brrrain, at Capital Fringe last summer. caitlincaplinger.com “I am endlessly grateful for the energy and wit of all the company members of Arlington Company B!”
Merry Jayne Casillas
Merry Jayne Casillas (Priscilla Harrington) is a 36-year-old actor from Arlington, VA. Since joining ArtStream in 2007, Merry appeared in 13 ArtStream musicals and invited other actors to join the company, many of whom are still company members. She is happiest when the group is writing plays, rehearsing, and performing. Merry fell in love with acting while performing with the Phoenix Company at Imagination Stage. She has also appeared in church Roadshows, The Order is Love with McLean Stage, and The Music Man at Stratford High School. Merry is a graduate of The Stratford Program. She likes to write poetry, paint, make jewelry, and have fun with her 32 nieces and nephews. She works at Zinga Frozen Yogurt in Arlington. “My big family and lots of friends are my cheering fans every year and I love them!”
Annie Coffman (Assistant Director, Mrs. Emma Potter) has worked in the Arlington Inclusive Theater Companies for eight years as an assistant director, choreographer, and mentor. She’s also participated in ArtStream’s various social clubs and musical theater classes over the years. Outside of ArtStream, Annie performs with a number of local opera and musical theater companies in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. She’s sung with the National Philharmonic Chorale and is currently a staff singer at St. John’s Episcopal in Washington, DC. Annie works at Buckley Sandler LLP, a proud sponsor of ArtStream. “Congrats Company B, we’ve got a great show! I can’t wait to watch you shine out there today!!”
Benjamin Collins is a 52-year-old actor from Rockville, MD. This is his 13th show with ArtStream! Before ArtStream, Benjamin acted at Rock Terrace High School and Imagination Stage. In a production of The Big Friendly Giant at Imagination Stage he met ArtStream Co- founder Nicolette Stearns. Benjamin works as an administrative coordinator at Special Olympics International in Washington, DC. He is also a Special Olympics athlete in bocce and powerlifting, and he loves to participate in the annual Super Polar Bear Plunge with the organization. Benjamin has a great memory and loves trivia. “I love being with everyone in the company. Congrats to the cast!”
Megan Cooper is a 35-year-old actor from Rockville, MD. She has been acting with ArtStream since the first Inclusive Theatre Companies – this is her 13th show! Megan’s love for dancing and acting blossomed through performances at Imagination Stage many years ago. In addition to performing, Megan is also an author. She co-authored the children’s book The Colorful Adventures of Pauline and Tiff with ArtStream Co-founder Nicolette Stearns. Megan lives independently and works at the National Capital Area YWCA. She is very active in community activities, including Special Olympics. She competes in cross-country skiing, sailing, swimming, basketball, and track, earning medals at the Special Olympics World Games in China (sailing), Austria (cross-country skiing), and Idaho (cross-country skiing). “My fellow actors and friends and all of the ArtStream staff and volunteers are a very special part of my life!”
Elizabeth Cronin (Director) got involved with ArtStream in 2009 as a choreographer, then assistant director, and now is lucky enough to direct Company B. She studied Vocal Performance at Indiana University and moved to NYC after graduating to work at a talent agency representing TV, film, theatre and musical theatre actors. Shortly after moving to DC, she was introduced to ArtStream by her then roommate. She feels fortunate to be able to combine her love of Musical Theatre and her love for this community.
Joanne D’Eugenio is thrilled to be joining the ArtStream Team as Stage Manager! She recently moved from CT, where she spent many years involved in community theatre as stage manager, director, and set designer. Her real love is writing and she is currently working on several books and plays, which she hopes to get published. When she isn’t writing, Jo loves to sing, swim, hike, and camp. She would like to thank the entire ArtStream team for all their love and support! She would especially like to thank her daughter, Emily, and son, Billy, for making the move to VA worthwhile!
Emily D’Eugenio is thrilled to be a part of her first ArtStream Production! Emily is no stranger when it comes to acting and helping backstage. She has been performing since she was 8 years old. Her most recent role was Grandma Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof. She hopes to continue working with ArtStream for years to come. Emily just applied to the Mason LIFE Program for next fall. She would like to thank her new friends at ArtStream, especially Patti, our Director, all the mentors, and Joanne, her Mom, for their constant support!
Kirsten Davidson is an ArtStream actor from Rockville, MD who has been acting with ArtStream for 13 years. Kirsten works at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, where she has been employed for 27 years. She is active with Spirit Club and the Montgomery County Department of Recreation Weekenders Club. In January 2018, Kirsten joined the ArtStream Board of Directors as the Client Liaison. She enjoys listening to music, dancing, swimming, traveling, eating out, and spending time with her family, friends, and counselors. “Thanks to my parents, sisters, Jubilee counselors, ArtStream directors and mentors for all their support and thanks to Nicolette Stearns for coaching me. Caitlin Davies is an educator from Arlington, VA. She is thrilled to be returning to ArtStream for her fourth show as an assistant director. Caitlin studied theatre at Grinnell College and is currently a Special Education teacher at Patrick Henry Elementary in Arlington Public Schools. She recently completed a Masters in School Administration. “Thanks to my fellow artists for their inspiring work!”
Steve Deming has been working with DC Area community theaters for over 17 years and with ArtStream for the last several seasons. Most recently, Steve designed lighting for Rockville Little Theatre’s production of The Underpants, Silver Spring Stage’s production of Wit and All in the Timing, Greenbelt Arts Center’s production of Angel Street, British Players production of Quartet, and Montgomery Playhouse’s upcoming production of Love, Loss, and What I Wore. What brings him back to ArtStream year after year is the creative process of bringing a show together and executing the vision through a blend of traditional techniques in innovative technologies.
Kelly DeRoy is a 34-year-old actor from Arlington, VA, and has been with ArtStream for nine years. She loved performing in elementary school and with the Rainbow Company when she was younger. Kelly works at the Fairfax Government Employee Day Care Center. She loves going out with her friends at L’Arche and traveling with her parents. Her hobbies include bowling, softball, and working on the computer. “Thanks to my family, friends, and neighbors for their support and coming to my performances. I remember every flower I have received from you.”
Annetta Dexter Sawyer
Annetta Dexter Sawyer (Assistant Director/Choreographer) has taught for ArtStream off and on since its inception. She’s been a movement and voice coach, taught poetry, drama, and even yoga! Much of her teaching has been with ArtStream community partner programs at Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children (CSAAC), the Forbush School, and The Treatment and Learning Centers (TLC). Previous ArtStream performance credits include Choreographer for the 2008 Silver Spring Inclusive Theatre Company musical Mission: Environment. She is proud to assistant direct the Cabaret. “Thank you maaarvelous ArtStreamers for all your hard work, the fun, and your talents!”
Christie DiPlacido is a 36-year-old actor from Arlington, VA. She is a graduate of the Mason LIFE Program at George Mason University. Christie started taking classes with ArtStream in 2008 and is appearing in her fourth show with the Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company! She works at Wildflour Catering & Bakery and at Safeway. Christie is a very creative artist. She creates paintings that are often sold at auction to benefit various charities. “Love to all my ArtStream friends and thanks to my mom for always helping me.”
Lexi Dressman is 16 years old and she has lived in Germantown, Maryland since she was born. She has been acting with ArtStream for almost four years and is excited to continue! Other than ArtStream, Lexi has performed in her school shows as well as with Ovations Theatre. During the day, she goes to Northwest High School. Her hobbies include reading, singing, writing, and eating. She thanks her parents for supporting her in everything she does!
Kate Fairhurst calls herself a nomad, having moved 12 times, but she has lived in Montgomery County longer than anywhere else. This is Kate’s first experience with ArtStream, immediately jumping into the deep end of the pool. She has previously performed at numerous Regional theatres in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. She founded Theatre 7 where she directed, acted, choreographed, and taught children’s acting classes. Kate is also the founder and owner of Mindful Well-being, Inc. It specializes in teaching meditation and yoga to limited mobility and memory care for residents in assisted living residences. She is a regular patron and volunteer for the arts, museums, theatres, opera, dance. Kate enjoys learning to cook new cuisines such as Persian and Indian. “Fair thoughts and kind deeds attend thee.”
Christopher Famme is a 58-year-old actor from San Diego, CA, currently living in Arlington, VA. He has been acting with the Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company for 10 years. Christopher works as a janitor and is a life-long performer. He played drums with San Diego Center’s singing group “The Sparrows,” and now plays drums with the “Spirit Band” at his church. He performs each year with The Woodmont Players at ServiceSource and attends regular music and dance therapy sessions. Christopher is also an artist. His art has been published on Christmas cards and calendars with The Arc. He loves Special Olympics (swimming, basketball, and soccer), Harry Potter, and Disney! “Thanks to all the wonderful directors at ArtStream!”
Jonathan Feifer (Actor) is a 22-year-old from Rockville, MD who performed in ArtStream’s Cabaret last year and acted in the Inclusive Theater Companies for two years. He has sung solo and in duets in private recitals with other aspiring performers. He was a member of the chorus in his high school production of Les Miserables. Jonathan is currently a Project Search Intern at the National Institute of Health. He enjoys musicals, movies and getting together with friends. “Hope everyone who comes to Cabaret loves our show!”
Shelley Fisher is a choreographer and performer. This is her fourth show with ArtStream. She teaches dance classes, performs, and manages events. Some of her most rewarding moments come from serving as the choreographer for Gaithersburg Company A. “Now everyone put your hands to your mouth and yell out loud, ‘Go Gaithersburg Company A!!'”
Adrian Forsythe ỹ Korzeniewicz
Adrian Forsythe y Korzeniewicz is an actor from Hyattsville, MD. Adrian’s ambitions are to be an advocate for people with disabilities and to be an actor. He graduated from the George Mason LIFE Program with concentrations in theater and communications, appeared in plays, worked backstage, and joined student theater groups. Adrian is currently employed by National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), and has experience ranging from interning at the Smithsonian Institution with Project Search to a Congressional internship on Capitol Hill. Adrian is a trained peer mentor with Project STIR. With ArtStream, Adrian participates in the Gaithersburg Inclusive Theatre Company, leads communication and community workshops, and was the client liaison on the Board of Directors. He also emceed the 2016 ArtStream Gala. “To the cast and crew —our time is now!”
Jonathan Frederick (Chef Gaston) Jonathan Frederick is a 35-year-old actor from Fairfax, VA. This is his fifth year performing with ArtStream. During the day, he works full time as a chef with WildFlour Catering in Chantilly, VA. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys swimming, horseback riding, and hanging out with family and friends. His favorite part about ArtStream is acting alongside his friends, and taking part in the production of the show! “Break a leg Company B!!”
Jon Paul Frederick
Jon Paul Frederick (Inspector Bailey) is an 18-year-old volunteer mentor from Fairfax, VA. This is his fifth year volunteering with ArtStream. Jon Paul is a senior at Centreville High School. He works part time as a lifeguard and Spanish tutor. In his free time, Jon Paul enjoys volunteering and hanging out with friends and family. His favorite part about ArtStream is spending time with his uncle (Jonathan Frederick) and helping actors with their lines during the performance. “ArtStream is the coolest thing I’ve ever been involved with and I hope to continue to volunteer as long as possible. Mikayla Goetz (Assistant Director/Choreographer) is thrilled to be making her ArtStream debut! By day, Mikayla works as a company member of Boots on the Ground Theater as well as a dance instructor with Studio One Dance. Having recently moved to this area, Mikayla feels blessed to have been so warmly welcomed into the ArtStream family. She wants to thank her company members for inspiring and empowering her both on and off stage.
Davin Golder is an actor from Rockville, MD. Davin began acting with ArtStream in 2011. This is his ninth performance! Davin was born in Atlanta, GA. He loves acting and singing at ArtStream, and also enjoys singing at his church, the People’s Community Baptist Church of Silver Spring. Davin works at Catholic Charities and competes in bowling and track and field with Special Olympics. “Thanks to everyone for supporting me!”
Denise M. Green
Denise M. Green (Actor) is a 62-year-old (62 years young!) actor from Washington, DC. This is her first performance with ArtStream! Denise has performed at the Inwood Coffee House for 12 years. She attended Sharpe Health School and sang at church from ages 10 to 18. Denise is active in her church, especially the group Handicap Encounter Christ (HEC). Denise has many hobbies, including oil painting, crocheting, cooking, bingo, bowling, and karaoke. But most of all, Denise loves helping others and making people laugh. “I want to give all my thanks to God and everyone who supported me along the way! My mother Mrs. Corrinne Green, my brother Vernon Butler, Ruth Iverson, Leslie and Ken Moore for introducing me to ArtStream, and Julie, Annetta, and Stephen at ArtStream for being amazing teachers.”
Jessica Laura Grossman
Jessica Grossman is an ArtStream actor living in North Bethesda, MD. In addition to ArtStream, Jessica has appeared onstage at Rock Terrace High School in The Secret Garden (Mary), The Wizard of Oz (Ms. Gulch, the Wicked Witch), A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Christmas Past), and Annie (Miss Hannigan). This is Jessica’s fifth ArtStream show! Her experience with ArtStream has been very good. She learns a lot about herself while having fun. “I want to thank Mom, Amy, Sharon, Andrew, Liz, Mary Mowrey -Reis, and Katie Neumann for their support and encouragement throughout my ArtStream experience.”
Peter Han is from Rockville, MD, and is loving his first year of acting with the Gaithersburg A Inclusive Theatre Company. Although this is his first show with ArtStream, it’s hardly his first time on stage! He served as a Party Guest for four seasons in Chamberlain Performing Arts’ Nutcracker in Plano, TX, plus has been thrilled to present skits in various talent shows. During the day, Peter loves helping senior citizens through the Supported Employment program at the Kennedy Institute of Catholic Charities in Rockville. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, SPIRIT Club and PCR classes, Special Olympics bowling and basketball; and playing in a chime choir at church. Peter is excited to be in one of ArtStream’s Inclusive Theatre Companies this year, and is very grateful for the support of his fellow cast members; Artstream staff and volunteers, his counselor Melvin, and his family!
Sylvia Herrada is a 24-year-old volunteer mentor from Urbana, MD. This is her second year acting with ArtStream. Sylvia works at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as part of their Postbaccalaureate IRTA program. She enjoys food, going to the gym, hanging out with her doggies, and trying new things. “All my love to Company B. You all have made this experience amazing and I can’t wait to continue my relationship with ArtStream!”
Stephen Hildebrandt (Music Director/Accompanist) has found it to be truly gratifying to work with these talented actors and help develop their musical talents. This is Stephen’s first ArtStream production. Stephen is a retired attorney with CBS where he worked as Senior Vice President Legal and Business Affairs negotiating talent, concert, and music rights deals for CBS Radio and its internet music services. Music has been a big part of his life since he began studying piano at age eight. Stephen has been music director for high school musical productions, directed adult and teenage church choirs, served as church organist, sang in choruses, and spent many hours with family and friends around the piano singing favorite Broadway and pop tunes. “Working with ArtStream has renewed my belief that music can positively impact people’s lives. Congratulations to a great cast on their hard work and splendid performance.”
Jennifer Holden (Mary Bustle) is a 30-year-old actress from Springfield, VA, who has been in ArtStream since 2009 and in the Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company since 2013. She loves musicals and performed in Anything Goes and The Boyfriend at Paul VI Catholic High School. Jenny attended George Mason University’s LIFE Program and now works as a preschool teacher’s aide. In her free time, Jenny advocates for people with disabilities at the local and state level with the Arc of Northern VA; in 2018, she even spoke to officials in Congress. She loves sports and hiking, drawing and reading, and getting together with friends, her brother and sister, and other family members. “Thanks to Elizabeth and the mentors for believing in me and to Mom and Dad for helping me take part in ArtStream.”
Greg Hoppe (Inspector Wilfred) is a 28-year0old actor who lives in Fairfax and has been acting since he joined a small theatre group at age seven. His first mainstage production was in 8th grade at Lake Braddock Secondary School. He later received the 8th grade Outstanding Drama Student Award. At Paul VI High School, he acted in musicals all four years, earning a Director’s Commendation for the Cappies and membership in International Thespians Society, and returned for seven more musicals as a guest alumni actor. Greg took Artstream classes on the GMU campus for several years, and later joined Company B Arlington in 2013. He works at a cafeteria on the GMU campus and is active in yoga, dance, biking and Special Olympics basketball and baseball. He loves music, movies, and live theatre, and plays a mean game of checkers. “On with the show!”
Lindsay grew up in Bethesda but now lives in Rockville. While in Bethesda she performed with BAPA (now Imagination Stage) and has been in ArtStream from the beginning. She loves singing and dancing and all the friends she has made through the years there. She went to Walter Johnson High School and then to the Vocational Independence Program at New York Tech in Long Island. During the day Lindsay works in the Day Care Center at NIH. Lindsay is a huge sports fan. She is active in karate, both in taking classes and teaching. She now has earned a blue-belt. Her two favorite sports teams are the Nationals and the Caps.
Justin Hunsinger is a 27-year-old actor from Gaithersburg, MD. This is his second year with ArtStream! Justin’s past performances include Dracula and Macbeth through a theatre elective class. Justin works at Starbucks and is currently training for USA Games with Special Olympics. His hobbies include sports, acting, karaoke, dancing, camping, and hiking. Justin loves hanging out with friends. “Thank you to my parents for supporting my dreams.”
Addison Janney is a 25-year-old from Arlington, VA. This is his second season with ArtStream, having previously served as Company A’s Stage Manager. Addison is a writer, director, and actor. He also enjoys painting. “Thank you to the cast and crew. Break a leg!”
Dunham is a mentor with Arlington Company A and will be playing the parts of King Reginald, The Gatekeeper’s Sentry, and an evil spirit in the company’s 2019 production.
Caroline Johnson is a performer, designer, and dramaturg. This is her first ArtStream production. Most recent performance credits include festivals sponsored by King’s College London: The Ballroom: Adult Play-Time (Infancy, History, and the Avant-Garde: A Contemporary Music and Movement Micro Festival), and Underground Medieval London: Etheldreda, site-specific performance in the crypt of St. Etheldreda’s Cathedral in Holborn (Arts and Humanities Festival). She is a classic movie nerd, cannot play chess to save her life, and probably listens to The Smiths too much. All my love to friends and family, and to Mom: “Goodnight, Vienna!”
Mark Jones is a 32-year-old actor from Arlington, VA. His first acting experience was performing with his twin sister Emily and older brother Evan for their parents and grandparents. He joined ArtStream in 2008 and has played characters from a soccer player, to an evil prince, to a police chief. Mark is active in Special Olympics soccer and basketball. Mark works at the Blossom Café in Oakton, and on Saturdays he volunteers at the Arlington Central Library children’s room. Stella Rose Kalb
Stella Rose Kalb (Actor) is a 21-year-old actor from Georgetown. Cabaret is her first performance with ArtStream after previously taking classes. Stella Rose has performed at Sense Theatre in Nashville, where she also took voice lessons. She just started working with Project Most. She enjoys art, music, and movies, especially The Muppets. “Peace out, Stella Rose.”
Phyllis Kay is a volunteer mentor. She spent more than 20 years performing with community theater groups in Maryland. Now retired, Phyllis enjoys volunteering, especially with this amazing group. “What a great group of actors and staff!!! I am so fortunate to be able to work with all of them.”
Pat Kearns-Michaelsen (Mentor) first volunteered at ArtStream in 2015, working front of house for the Silver Spring productions. This is her second year as an onstage mentor with Maryland’s Cabaret. Pat also acted at American Stage Theatre Company in St. Petersburg, FL. “The person that you will spend the most time with is yourself, so be nice to them.”
Laurie Ann Kehoe
Laurie Ann Kehoe (Chrystal Harrington) is appearing in her 11th ArtStream musical. Her characters have ranged from being a singing “Alleycat” to a “we-are-bad” alien to a trusty sidekick, through which she brought her quiet joy to each production. Weekends for Laurie Ann are frequently filled with Special Olympics practices and tournaments, in snow- shoeing, basketball, soccer, softball, and golf skills. A highlight for her and her family was being included on the Virginia Special Olympics golf team in 2010 for the Special Olympics National Games in Lincoln, NE, at which she won a silver medal in the golf skills competition. Laurie Ann attended school in Arlington, VA and now spends her work days at MVLE in Springfield, VA.
Peter Kehoe (Mentor, Mr. Higginbotham) is the proud parent of actor Laurie Ann Kehoe and was thrilled to be asked to join Company B a few years ago.
McKenna G. Kelly
McKenna is a stage manager with ArtStream. This is her sixth ArtStream show, and she is no stranger to theatre. Since grade school, McKenna worked in some capacity of theatre — whether in acting, costume design, make-up design, properties, scenic painting, booking, front of house, backstage crew, or stage managing — for well over 50 productions. “I am very excited and thankful to be a part of this production!”
Nader Khalaf is a 25-year-old actor from Bethesda, MD. This is his second year acting in an ArtStream performance, and he has participated in several ArtStream classes. Nader also performs as a member of the InterPlay Orchestra where he plays the piano. He is a student at Montgomery College enrolled in Challenge Program courses. He enjoys his volunteer position at Nourish Now and is actively looking for work. Nader enjoys going to the gym and competes in swimming, soccer, basketball, and tennis with Special Olympics. He is very friendly and loves talking to people about pretty much everything, but especially outdoor equipment and politics. Nader enjoys fishing, taking the Metro and “hanging out” in DuPont Circle. He spends a lot of time with his cat Marble; surfing the internet and on Facebook, caring for his yard, and operating his landscaping equipment. “I enjoy acting and am so happy that I made new friends at ArtStream. I want to thank my family for their support.”
Alexx Kipp (Actor) is a 24-year-old actor and life-long resident of Arlington, VA. This is his fourth time acting with ArtStream! Before ArtStream, Alexx performed with the Honors’ Chorus, in the Reflections contest at the Old North Church, and at the Ivy Street School Extravaganza. Alexx is a member of the MOST Program at the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes (JFGH). Through this program, he volunteers at the Humane Society socializing the cats. Alexx enjoys walking, listening to music, and going to museums. “I want to thank my dad, Old Charlie, for introducing me to ArtStream and for practicing with me. I want to thank my mom, Yally, for getting me to practice. Lastly, I want to thank everyone at ArtStream for supporting me in acting.”
Tammy Kiser is a 26-year-old actor from Lorton, VA. She has been acting with ArtStream for nine years. She has also performed with Center Stage competition teams and continues to perform with an adult tap class. Tammy works at Safeway, and she enjoys Special Olympics sports. “Best wishes to all my cast friends.”
Leah Kocsis (Music Director, Movement Director) is a pianist, conductor, and music teacher. This is her second show with ArtStream! Leah previously worked as a music director with Kensington Arts Theatre, The Arlington Players, The Little Theater of Alexandria and Rockville Musical Theater. She received her B. A. in music from the University of Rochester and her M. A. in music education from the Peabody Conservatory. Leah is passionate about sharing music with children. As an educator, she founded multiple ensembles in beginning strings, choral music, and handbells. She also works with local youth orchestras as a music director, assistant conductor and pianist. Leah has three young music makers – Alexandra, Charlotte, and Elizabeth – who can often be found singing, dancing, and making music of their own.
Nick Kramp (Alfred Wright) is a 31-year-old actor from Vienna, VA. He began acting in Art- Stream productions in 2011. Participating in each year’s play is very important to him. He enjoys being dramatic and funny. Even before joining ArtStream, Nick enjoyed doing imitations of Simpson characters (“Homer, no-o-o”) and other famous people. Nick works at Wildflour Bakery, making dog treats. He’s become a master dough roller and always rolls out dough when the family makes pizza at home. Nick is into movies, video games, and loves music. “Thanks for 8 years of getting to ham it up with ArtStream!”
Mike Krempasky is a 35-year-old actor from Olney, MD. This is his fifth show with ArtStream. Mike attended Sherwood High School where he sang in the chorus for three years and performed in Rock-n-Roll Revival for two. Mike attends Community Support Services, where he receives job support and training. He loves watching football and playing video games. Every year he plays on a basketball team. Mike also enjoys bowling. “I have enjoyed acting with ArtStream, from the first day I started.”
Katrina Kubik (Costume Coordinator) is a 29-year-old Creative Artist and Costume Designer. Katrina has shared a wonderful relationship with ArtStream for the past two years. Katrina has volunteered to act on stage as a stage mentor during last year’s performance of Must Love Music, as well as serving as a teaching artist in various ArtStream classes. Katrina has also served as an ArtStream event and performance photographer. Katrina would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the most charming and creative little muses, Moira and Nevin, with whom she spends her days. Ricky Kuron is a 27-year-old actor living in Falls Church, VA. This is Ricky’s first show with ArtStream having previously taken classes. Ricky is a laborer at Fort Belvoir North Post Express. He recently won Service Source’s Job Placement Employee of the Year Award. Ricky also volunteers at Mount Vernon. He enjoys playing video games and spending time with family. “Thanks to my family for supporting my dreams. Thanks to my fellow cast members, it was an honor to star in the play with you.”
Wendy Lanxner is a Washington area music teacher, composer and multi-instrumentalist. She has maintained a private studio for over 20 years, and works as a music director for ArtStream and Lumina Studio Theatre. Wendy teaches lessons in flute, guitar, sax, bass, recorder, piano and ukulele. She sings, writes originals, and plays bass with the band Wendy & the Lost Boys, and also performs in the jazz duo, WendySteveJazz. Wendy is the youth stage coordinator for the Takoma Park Folk Festival. Wendy volunteers in hospital settings through Musicians On Call. She is thrilled to be doing music for her very first Artstream show. Go Gaithersburg Company A!
Pamela Leighton-Bilik, a veteran educator (Drama, English, Chorus, Special Education), holds a B.A. magna cum laude from Ithaca College and an M.A. in Communication Arts and Theatre from The University of Maryland. An international Gilbert and Sullivan director, Pamela is a founder and stage director of PB Theatricals Youth Theatre, which offers performance and technical theatre opportunities for young people in the U.K. This is Pamela’s second season with ArtStream. She is also directing the June 10th (7:30 p.m.) ArtStream Cabaret at AMP Powered by Strathmore. “Love and best wishes to all of the actors, staff and crew involved in this production.”
Alex Lightfoot is an actor from Washington, DC. He’s acted with ArtStream since 2009, playing all kinds of roles. Alex also performs with the interPLAY Orchestra, where he plays harmonica and percussion instruments. Alex loves to bowl, dance (Zamdance), go on adventures, travel, and eat great food. “I love my ArtStream family: past and present.”
Terrel Limerick is an actor from Bethesda, MD. He has been acting with ArtStream since the very beginning – this is his 13th show! Terrel began acting at 15 years old with Imagination Stage (formerly Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts) and believes acting is a great goal to pursue! Terrel has worked at Special Olympics International in Washington DC for 15 years. He is currently a special assistant in the business department. In July 2015, at the Special Olympics World Games in Long Beach, CA, Terrel became a “World Champion,” winning a bronze medal for being the first sailor from the USA to sail a boat solo at the World Games. He is also on the Special Olympics ski and track and field teams. “Special thanks to my family, friends, counselors, sports coaches, and ArtStream staff for always encouraging me to aim high!”
Jesse Lyles (Production Assistant) is a 25-year-old professional from Washington, DC. During the day Jesse works in television and film production as a production assistant. He enjoys creating playlists and mixes, watching a good movie or TV show, hanging out with friends, and eating. “Much love to the actors and the many helping hands who made this show a success!”
Shannon Lyons is a 39-year- old actor from Rockville, MD. She was born in Lexington, KY, and moved with her family to Olney, MD in 1987. She has been an actor with ArtStream for 13 years. Shannon’s love of drama began at Imagination Stage (formerly Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts) where she performed for 10 years. Shannon works as a childcare assistant at The Children in the Shoe Child Care in Bethesda, MD. She has been employed there for over 12 years. Some of Shannon’s favorite activities include karaoke, dancing, Zumba, going to the movies, and swimming. She also enjoys arts and crafts projects, photography, and scrapbooking. She loves to travel and spend time with her nieces and nephews. “Thanks to my parents for supporting me through the years with my love of acting.”
Abby Madden (Music Director, Accompanist) is a musician, teacher and collaborator from Alexandria, VA. Abby works as the Programs Coordinator at ArtStream and is an active freelance musician. Abby also teaches piano, guitar, and percussion at her studio in Northern Virginia. She holds a BA in Music Composition from Messiah College and an MA in Theology and the Arts from Wesley Theological Seminary. “Thank you to all of the Cabaret performers for your hard work and positive attitudes. It’s been a joy making music together!”
Kathleen Maloney is an actor from Rockville, MD. This is her 13th show with ArtStream. Kathleen attended Elizabeth Seton High School, where she performed with the choir. She also attended Richard Montgomery High School and Montgomery College. Kathleen served on the Board of Directors at the Arc Montgomery County for several years and currently serves on their Public Policy Committee. She enjoys playing golf with Special Olympics. Kathleen is the youngest of five children and loves being the center of attention. Domino Mannheim (Lighting Designer) recently graduated from the University of Arizona, with a degree in BFA Theatre Production Design and Technology, with an emphasis in Lighting Design and a minor in Business Administration. She was born in Tucson, AZ and currently lives in NYC! Although this is her first time in Virginia and working with ArtStream, she has done work in Arizona, Colorado, Washington, California, Chicago, Maine, and New York City. In her spare time she loves to read, paint, and do anything involving the outdoors.
Xandra Martel (Duchess Anita Harrington) is a 42-year-old who has been acting since she was 15. Xandra has been an ArtStream actor since the very beginning at Imagination Stage. This is her 13th show with ArtStream. During the day, she attends the Challenge Program at Montgomery College. She has a dog named Maisy, two brothers and her niece just turned 1! Xandra is a poet and a dog-lover. “Thanks to my boyfriend Andrew, and my whole family for their support — my brothers Peter and Michael, my sister-in-law Katie, my mom and step-dad, and my dad!”
RJ Martin (Duke Martin Harrington) Richard James Martin, better known to all of us as RJ, is one of the original members of the Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company. He is 39 years old and lives in Bethesda, Maryland. He attended H.B. Woodlawn. RJ is retired from working at the Arlington Central Library and enjoys spending time with his family, especially with his little nephew Augie. He is a Special Olympics athlete, specializing in basketball and softball. Leisure activities include listening to music, playing pool, and watching local sports teams. Lukas Anthony McCormick
Lukas Anthony McCormick (Inspector Franklin) is a native of Alexandria, VA. This is his eighth year with ArtStream. One day, at the dinner table, Lukas announced about his brother and sister, “Jesse is a drummer, Kayla plays the violin; I will be the actor in the family.” Lukas performed in Fiddler On The Roof and Chicago at TC Williams High School in Alexandria, VA. He was nominated for an award from the Cappies of the National Capital Area for his 2009 role in Fiddler on the Roof. Lukas is dedicated to ArtStream and all the directors, actors and mentors. “Singing, dancing, and acting will always be a part of my life.”
Faith Renee Gibson Andruscavage McLuckie is a 23-year-old, Washington, DC girl, born and raised. As an ArtStream rookie she thanks all the staff, volunteers, and her fellow actors for making her first year so much fun. Her previous performance experience includes two years at Metropolitan Ballet with yearly performances in The Nutcracker and seven years at Imagination Stage in the Pegasus Ensemble. In addition to ArtStream, she enjoys dancing with friends at UCR and PCR events, karaoke, cheerleading, Devenio dance, ZamDance, VisArts, and Special Olympics. Matthew McMeekin is a 40-year-old actor from Bethesda, MD. He started with ArtStream in 2007. Matthew also performed at Blackrock Center for the Arts. Matthew starts each day with 6:15 swim practice and then goes to work at ROI Rehabilitation Services. Matthew’s favorite hobbies include singing, whistling, learning foreign languages, acting, swimming, and listening to music. “Thanks for all the support I’ve gotten from the ArtStream directors, mentors, and actors through the years.”
Amy Merrell (Myrtle Mal) is a 25-year-old actor from Vienna, VA. This is her first season with Arlington Company B. Amy has previously taken improv and Shakespeare calsses with ArtSTream. She also does ballroom dancing with the Dancing Stars of Northern Virginia. They performed at a TedTalk at the University of Maryland in College Park and at Elegant Dancing. Amy works at Wildflour Caterers, enjoys ballroom dancing, basketball, cooking, baking, and swimming. “Thanks to my parents and friends for their support and to my new ArtStream friends for their acceptance and friendship.”
Leslie E. Moore
Leslie E. Moore (Actor), 54, has been acting with ArtStream since its beginning. Before ArtStream, she was one of the founding cast members of the acting troupe that would become Pegasus at Imagination Stage. She fondly remembers these early shows with Sally Bailey, including the BAPA Love Hour. Leslie has played roles ranging from the Ghost of Lady Macbeth to a world famous chef who doesn’t know how to cook. She works out at Spirit Club, does adaptive yoga, and likes to play Christmas carols on the piano. “I love Cabaret because I’m good at it. I feel happy when my friends see my shows and cheer me on.”
Mark Mumm is a 29-year-old actor from Buffalo, NY. This is his first season with Artstream. This will be his first theatre performance since a DC Fringe Festival show in the summer of 2015. He has done work as an extra and had a featured role in an episode of CopyCat Killers. Recently, Mark has been putting more time and money into his music. Mark is a program manager for an upcoming children’s museum in DC. He enjoys music, going to shows, and writing and performing original music with his band Mistress Tigers. He also enjoys exercise, writing (scripts, poetry, sketches), and petting doggos. “I feel so incredibly grateful to have been welcomed so warmly and seamlessly into this Artstream family. Chelsea Murray is a 31-year-old actor from Alexandria, VA. She has been acting with the Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company since 2010. Medusa’s Mystical Journey is her eighth show with ArtStream. Chelsea has always loved the theatre. When she is not acting, singing, dancing or listening to music, she is attending a live performance. She began her career at age five with Chris Collins Dance Studio where she performed for 12 years. She acted in school plays in middle school and at Paul VI High School. Chelsea currently works at “Charming Concepts” in The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA. In her spare time she spends time with her brother Brady, her cat Misty, and her dog Raffi. “Thanks ArtStream, the directors, the mentors and my fellow actors for the opportunity to live my dream.”
Joe Myers is a 33-year-old actor from Kensington, MD, currently living in Rockville, MD. Joe has been an actor with ArtStream since the beginning, making this his 13th ArtStream show! Before that, Joe was an actor with Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts (now Imagination Stage). Joe is the front desk receptionist for Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children (CSAAC). He enjoys dancing Zumba at the Rendezvous Studio in Rockville.
Bailey Nassetta is a 25-year-old actress from Arlington, VA. She has worked with ArtStream for two and a half years. Bailey is a teaching artist for ArtStream and Educational Theatre Company. She is currently directing two new works in New York City. Bailey enjoys singing while playing the piano and watching The Office. “Love to the cast and crew! Can’t wait to rock out all together!”
Josef Newton is a 30-year-old actor from Springfield, VA who has been with ArtStream for five years. Josef is a “Motivated Valuable Loyal Employee” in a community business building on Fullerton Rd. and a part of Mobile Crew 9 which picks up trash. He enjoys playing the banjo and listening to bluegrass and country music. “I want to thank my friends for rehearsing and performing with me. I’d like to especially thank Barbara for rehearsing my banjo parts with me.”
Eric Niedringhaus (Benjamin) is a 42-year-old actor living in McLean, VA and started acting in school musicals while a student at McLean High School. He has been an ArtStream actor since 2007. He works for a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office contractor assembling patent grant documents. He has participated in Special Olympics since 1997 (currently as a swimmer) and also enjoys Family Bowling. He is active with his church where he sings with the music group and serves as a sacristan. He also loves spending time with his little nephew and niece. “Thank you to all my family and friends who support us by coming to our plays, and to Elizabeth, the actors, mentors and others who help us make the plays so fun.”
Kerry O’Brien is a 27-year-old actor born in Bethesda, MD. After living in California, Massachusetts, and Italy, she has called Annandale, VA home for the last 19 years. Kerry started acting at Annandale HS and has been part of Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company A since 2009. Medusa’s Mystical Journey is her 10th show with ArtStream. Kerry loves her job at Wildflour Catering & Bakery. She also enjoys singing, acting, and sports. “Thank you to my parents, two sisters, Jules and Erin, brother-in-law Chris, niece Annabelle, and my friends for all their support in life and acting.”
Emilia O’Connor (Director) is a 39-year-old actor, co-founder of ArtStream, co-assistant director for Gaithersburg ITC A, and Virginia’s Cabaret Company Director.. She is from Chevy Chase, MD. Emilia often performs with the British Players and with Hexagon companies in the DC area. She studied Theatre at NYU, and eventually earned her BA in Theatre from the University of Maryland, and an MA in Education and Human Development from George Washington University with a focus in Transition Special Education. She works as a special education teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools. She loves being a new momma. “Thanks to baby Iella and Joel for letting me run off to join the show!”
Tom O’Reilly (Scenic Coordinator) is excited to work with the ArtStream cast and team! He is semi retired and spends much of his time building sets and production managing for local community theaters. He has been active with The Arlington Players and Little Theater of Alexandria and has also designed and built many productions for the multi-generational Chalice Theatre. In a prior life he worked with local and international government real estate operations.
Conor O’Shaughnessy is a 31-year-old actor from Rockville, MD. This is his ninth show with ArtStream! Conor performed in plays while attending the Harbour School in Baltimore. He also performed with Dawn Productions at the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Eubie Blake Center, and Martin’s West. Conor works delivering mail at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. His hobbies include ballroom dancing, karaoke, guitar, hiking, fishing, and bowling. “I appreciate my family and friends for their support.”
Bill Ott is an actor from Rockville, MD. This is his second performance with ArtStream. Bill has been employed at Giant for 25 years. He will perform for his “big cheering section,” including his wife of seven years, Shelley Belgard, and their huge family, who Bill loves very much. “I’m having real fun with my friends.”
Charles Outlaw (Actor) is a 31-year-old actor from Washington, DC. He previously acted with the ArtStream Inclusive Theatre Company from 2005 until 2009. Charles performed at the Lincoln Theatre with the Art and Drama Therapy Inspirational Choir and Moroccan Ensemble from 2011 – 2016. In December 2016, he performed at the White House for President Barack Obama and Mrs. Michelle Obama. Charles currently attends Bridgeway Community Services and is a member of the Bridgeway Choir. He enjoys singing, performing, and recording. He performs at Republic Takoma Park’s Open Mic every Sunday with Zander Baldwin. “Peace!”
Matthew Palacios (Mentor, a palace guest, an evil spirit) is an 18-year-old mentor from Arlington, VA. This is his first year with ArtStream. He has previously performed at Washington Lee high School, Synetic theatre, and Signature Theatre. Matthew enjoys theatre, art, and guitar. “Thanks to the cast and crew for their hard work.”
Cecelia Ann Pauley
Cecelia Ann Pauley is a 41-year-old actor. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, Cecelia now lives in Silver Spring, MD. She has been an ArtStream actor since the beginning – this is her 13th show with the Gaithersburg Inclusive Theatre Company! Cecelia has been a performer since fourth grade, performing at Cabin John Middle School, Churchill High School, Imagination Stage (formerly Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts), and Potomac Community Theatre. Professionally, Cecelia works with the Arc in vocational services. She enjoys singing, music, dance, theatre, and cooking. “Thanks to my parents and family for all their support.”
Laurie will be celebrating her 43rd birthday on March 29. Her hometown is Virginia Beach, but she have lived in Arlington for many years. This is her first year as an actor with ArtStream. Laurie did do some singing and acting when she lived in Holland and Norway. During the day, Laurie works at Arlington Weaves, making placemats, table runners, soap, candles, and many more fabulous things. Her hobbies are taking photos, playing games, having fun with friends, cooking, and of course, acting! Laurie loves her family for supporting her and L’Arche who has helped a lot!
James Randall is from Poolesville, MD. Hebegan performing with ArtStream this year. James is a student at Frederick Community College and works as a grill cook at Cugini’s restaurant. He enjoys building and flying model airplanes and playing acoustic and electric guitar. “Thanks to everyone involved for their hard work and friendship.”
Anne Reamer (Mentor) has been an onstage mentor for Arlington Company A since 2016, and has supported ArtStream since 2011. Her first theatre experience was to direct, cast, and perform in her high school plays. Anne has a strong professional background in working with people with special needs and their families as a counselor, coach, advocate, and teacher. She has her MEd in Community Counseling from The George Washington University. “I’m so impressed with how everyone at ArtStream works hard to make the other actors look their best and express their hearts. This care and compassion is a truly rare and valuable find today!”
Cassie Rennie is a 24-year-old actor from Arlington, VA. She is performing in her fifth show with ArtStream. Cassie is a student at Northern Virginia Community College and also volunteers at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. She enjoys reading, writing stories, juggling, and ventriloquism. She is an active member of Cool Aspies and Best Buddies Citizens. “Thanks to ArtStream for giving me the chance to perform my art out.”
Javier Requejo is a 36-year-old actor. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Javier lives now in Bethesda, MD. This is his ninth show with ArtStream. He also performed at Imagination Stage. Javier attends classes at Montgomery College and is a member of the Program for the Education and Enrichment Relationship Skills (PEERS) at Conversation Skills, LLC. He regularly volunteers at A Wider Circle in Silver Spring, MD. Javier loves sports and has been a Special Olympics athlete for more than 20 years. He currently competes in basketball and swimming. In his spare time, Javier enjoys hanging out with friends. His hobbies include cars and motorcycles, heavy rock music, dancing and playing drums. “Thanks to my parents and ArtStream teachers for always supporting my dreams.”
Alexander (Al) Richardson has performed with ArtStream for 13 years. Born in Washington, DC in 1981, Al lived in Switzerland, Zambia, and Australia before eventually moving to Rockville, MD where he now makes his home. Al works with St. Coletta. He maintains an active life away from work that includes music with the InterPlay Orchestra, sports with Special Olympics (Alpine skiing, swimming, golf and tennis), fitness with Spirit Club, the Montgomery County Road Runners (MCRRC), and social activities with UCR.
Cynthia Ring is a 51-year-old actor from Rockville, MD. She originally hails from St. Louis, MO. Cynthia has acted with ArtStream since the first year of Inclusive Theatre Companies. This is her 13th show! She is an avid Special Olympics athlete in track, swimming and bowling. Cynthia loves attending social dances and going out with friends. She is grateful that her sister comes every year to watch. “Thank you to my sister and her husband and my nieces.”
Pete Scampavia is a 30-year-old actor from Arlington, VA. He has acted with ArtStream since 2014, and appeared in his first show with the Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company last spring as Dan De Miser in Must Love Music. Pete attended George Mason University in Fairfax. He works at Safeway and lives in his own apartment. When he’s not working or acting he likes to hang out with his friends and play with his matchbox cars. “Acting is my passion!”
Luke Scaros is from Madison, CT working with ArtStream for the first time. He has also performed at Generic Theatre (Virginia Beach, VA) East Haddam Stage Company, (East Haddam, CT) Connecticut Free Shakespeare (Bridgeport, CT), Ohio Wesleyan Players (Delaware, OH) and Regent University Theatre. Luke teaches with Chesapeake Shakespeare Company’s Educational Program, and is developing The Organic Theatre, a theatre company based in Baltimore. He enjoys reading, playwriting, and coming up with a new recipe of the week. “Thanks to Colleen and Madeline for giving me the opportunity to work with such a wonderful cast!”
Barbara Schelstrate has directed music for numerous shows and cabarets in the area, including Gilbert & Sullivan productions, the annual CHAWbarets at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) in D.C., and dozens of productions at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington. Her on-stage experience includes several operas with the Washington National Opera chorus and William Inge’s Picnic with Dominion Stage. Perhaps her favorite activity is composing music. She’s written a one-act opera, Frigga & the Mistletoe, and a musical version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which was performed in 2017 at CHAW. She’s happy to be writing for Arlington Company A!
Jason Schoenfeld, 24, is a Columbia, MD native who has returned to the local music and theatre scene after completing a Master’s in Music at NYU. This is his first year working with ArtStream, and he has loved every second of being the Music Director for Gaithersburg Company B. In addition to his work here, Jason teaches private lessons, produces music for multimedia, and has just released an EP, titled “The Butterfly and the Leaf”, under the pseudonym Jason Reid. Outside of his work, he has a passion for food, film, and fantasy of all kinds.
Andrea Soltesz is an ArtStream actor. This is her fifth show! Andrea works at Giant. She has been there for 15 years and loves her job. Andrea is a dedicated actor. She reads her script every day because she loves being in the play. Andrea also enjoys dancing and Zumba. “ArtStream Rocks!!!”
Ariel Cadby Spicer
Ariel Cadby Spicer (Mentor, a palace guest, Gift Giver) is a 22-year-old mentor from Arlington, VA. This is her first year acting with ArtStream. Ariel has performed in shows at Wakefield high School, Signature Theatre, Chalice Theatre, Keagan Theatre, and Yorktown High School. During the day she works as a business consultant at The Educe Group. Ariel enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and yoga. “Thanks so much to the rest of Company A for welcoming me to ArtStream.”
Laura Sullivan is a 27-year-old actress from Alexandria, VA. She made her ArtStream debut in 2011 as a time-traveling archaeologist in Oh My, An Invasion! Laura is a summa cum laude graduate of Northern Virginia Community College with a degree in Liberal Arts. She enjoys art, music, theater, and she is fairly fluent in Spanish. For many years, she sang with the Arlington Children’s Chorus, including two productions with the Wolf Trap Opera Company. Laura is currently working two volunteer positions at UpCycle Creative Reuse Center and at a local dentist’s office. “Thanks to everyone in the cast for making this such a great experience!”
Adam Tepper is a 30-year-old actor from Gaithersburg, MD. He has performed with ArtStream since 2007. Adam also performed with the Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts (now Imagination Stage) and in the Summer Theater Arts for Youth Program at the Bender JCC of Greater Washington. Favorite roles include Jay Bird in Honk and Agwe in Once On This Island. In his spare time, Adam participates in Special Olympics in swimming (he is a gold medalist!), and basketball. Adam also enjoys watching the Washington Capitals and Nationals. “Thank you! Thank you very much!”
With 25 years of sewing experience, Stefany Thomas, has costumed shows for local professional and community theatres. She trained as a costume stitcher at the University of Maryland’s Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. Stefany also worked with Howard Community College’s Arts Collective, Opera Camerata, Red Branch Theatre Company, and Drama Learning Center. Stefany costumed Dido and Aeneas, Angels in America, Dracula, 1001, A Chorus Line, Pirates of Penzance, Lion King, James and the Giant Peach, Madagascar, and Once On This Island as well as several original works. Stefany works as a freelance designer, serving several personal clients.
Allie Welch (Actor) is a 21-year-old actor from Fairfax, VA. She has been participating in ArtStream for three years, and previously performed with Ms. Kubley’s Drama Productions, at Fairview Elementary, Ivymount, and Imagination Stage. Allie is a student at Ivymount, she manages the George Mason basketball team, enjoys swimming, and listening to music. “Thanks to my family, friends, and staff at ArtStream for supporting me!”
Patti is a Co-founder and the Founding Executive Director for ArtStream. She now serves as a Master Teacher and consultant for ArtStream. Patti wears several hats during the day. She currently teaches drama and directs for ETC and Theatre Lab. As a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT), she works privately with clients, and also works as a professional organizer for Basic Organization. She loves directing again and is very thankful for everyone on the team in Arlington Company A!
Jake Young is a director and educator from Frederick, MD. This is his second season with ArtStream and his first year directing! Recently, Jake directed for Cultural DC’s Source Festival, Wildwood Summer Theatre, and Authentic Community Theatre. He currently works for Project Change, teaching after-school theatre classes to middle school students in Montgomery County. In his free time, Jake enjoys Harry Potter movies and board game nights with his friends. “Hope everyone enjoys the amazing work this cast has done on the show!”
