Positively Speaking in Chevy Chase

Teens and adults with Down syndrome (ages 15-40) and their Peer Partners will use the arts to work on communication skills.
THIS MONTH: Participants will share an advocacy position on Medicaid and/or post-secondary education. Self-advocates should come prepared with knowledge about how these policies impact their lives.

Who should register?
This class is designed for young adults (15-40) with Down syndrome. Participants should be able to function in groups of up to 30 people with 1:4 staffing; independently meet self-care needs; follow directions; and demonstrate respectful, safe behavior at all times.
Are classrooms accessible?
All classes are held at locations easy to access by bus, metro, or MetroAccess. Venues are selected to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
