Positively Speaking in Chevy Chase

Teens and adults with Down syndrome (ages 15-40) and their Peer Partners will use the arts to work on communication skills.
THIS MONTH: Participants will walk the red carpet and deliver a speech!

During the workshop, parents and guardians will meet with Rosemary DiPietro from the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services will speak to us about the Person-Centered Planning Process the Developmental Disabilities Administration will be using. There will also be time for socializing and sharing with each other.

Who should register?
This class is designed for young adults (15-40) with Down syndrome. Participants should be able to function in groups of up to 30 people with 1:4 staffing; independently meet self-care needs; follow directions; and demonstrate respectful, safe behavior at all times.
Are classrooms accessible?
All classes are held at locations easy to access by bus, metro, or MetroAccess. Venues are selected to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
