ArtStream is the proud recipient of a 2012 Quality of Life Grant from The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. Quality of Life Grants, conceived by the late Dana Reeve, are awarded to programs that improve the daily lives of individuals living with physical disabilities, including paralysis. The Reeve Foundation also gives special consideration to non-profit organizations serving returning wounded military and their families.
The Reeve Foundation 2012 Quality of Life Grant was awarded to benefit ArtStream’s Allies in the Arts Artists-in-Residence Project at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). Allies in the Arts brings creative expression to Wounded Warriors, their families, and caregivers at this military facility, in association with the American Red Cross. Allies sessions occur bedside and in group settings and benefit Warriors with a variety of life-altering injuries, including paralysis.
The Reeve Foundation previously honored Allies in the Arts with a 2010 Quality of Life Grant. We are extremely grateful to be a part of their efforts to benefit people living with paralysis, as well as to be a beneficiary of their support for services to wounded service persons and their families.
