Poem by Xandra Martel (Actress with The Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company)
THERE'S A PLACE FOR EACH OF US
There's a place for each of us
to be like normal people.
There's a place for us
to be grownups.
There's a place for each of us
to be actors and actresses.
That place is ArtStream.
There's a place for each of us to have a full life.

Letter from Casey Hammeke (Actress with The Arlington Inclusive Theatre Company)
I thoroughly enjoy being a part of Artstream. Since I’ve been acting for a long time, I was thrilled to hear Artstream would be starting up where I live in Northern Virginia. Acting is such a great way to stretch your self confidence and have a wonderful time doing it! I don’t know what I would do without acting in my life. There is nothing I don’t like about it. The other actors, mentors, scripts, costumes, music, and practices fill me with incredible pleasure! And it is so good for you! Where else can you find such a wonderful way to raise your spirit, develop hidden talents, make new and lasting friendships, and end your day with such satisfaction your left with a huge smile on your face! I think Artstream is just plain good for your soul!!

Kenny, on The Arkansaw Bear
I really meant it when I say I would like to see you all perform Arkansaw Bear once a month for the rest of my life. Your performance of that show made me understand life in the way that Our Town and The Road to Mecca and Billy Joel's Piano Man and Dvorak's New World Symphony have... I know what you mean about mourning. You all made me feel my heart, too.
Alex, High School Volunteer
I began working with ArtStream as a backstage assistant in the spring of 2006. My closest friend, Michael, has worked with the company from the beginning. I decided to volunteer with the spring acting class. I enjoyed it so much that I continued to assist for the spring and summer classes. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the actors and the instructor, Nicolette. I am disappointed that I did not start working with the company earlier.
Isaiah, Volunteer
The most powerful and potent art finds a way to actively engage and grow community. As a young artist, it is critical to seek opportunities that support personal and professional maturation. My time volunteering with the talented artists of ArtStream has been a highlight in my career. Sensitive, caring, and supportive, the team brings an unparalleled passion to their students and their teaching. Rehearsing with the group was often a highlight in my week because of the sheer joy and excitement shared amongst the ensemble. My time volunteering continues to sustain me as I strive to grow as an artist. Many thanks to Nicolette, Patti W., Patti K. for welcoming me warmly into the Artstream family.
Katy, on The Arkansaw Bear
ArtStream did a fantastic job with The Arkansaw Bear. All of the actors gave very strong and committed performances, with two standing out: the grieving little girl herself and the very funny, scooter-riding Star Bright. There was nothing slipshod about this production, unlike many shows for children. The excellent set, costumes, lights and effects came together and really brought the audience--kids and adults--into the woodland world of the little girl and the dancing bear.
Michael, High School Intern
Working with ArtStream was an experience I won't forget, and am sure to repeat in the future. The people at ArtStream combined many of the things I love about theater and performing and brought it to a community that I, previously, had little interaction with. They made everything about working for them easy and quick, and were always available if I had any questions. They introduced me to a part of life, and of myself, that was previously untouched, and for that I am forever grateful.
