The Frost School Oakmont Primary Program

ArtStream has partnered with The Frost School to bring classes to students with autism, ages 5-15.  Classes met on Mondays from 12:00 - 2:00 pm, for Fall 2010 - Summer 2011.

ArtStream’s Music Classes at the Frost School are a mix of songs and instruments, traditional and new, from cultures around the world. Time is spent exploring rhythms and melody while encouraging interaction and language use.  Each class offers an introduction to new music, hands-on experiences with a variety of instruments, and opportunities for self-expression-- individually and as a group.

ArtStream’s Puppetry Classes at the Frost School give the students an opportunity to experience a variety of puppetry styles including hand puppets, rod puppets, and marionettes.  Students develop fine motor skills through hands-on puppet manipulation.  Puppetry also offers the students a creative outlet for self-expression; while encouraging positive interactions and language development; through storytelling, music and dance.

ArtStream's Dance Classes at the Frost school enourage movement and rhythm.  Classes include opportunities for following choreography and free-dance expression

Knights of Glory Film and Web Project

Knights of Glory is a touring musical written specially for teens and preteens who are living in hospitals and hospice care.  Through the character Glory, participants learn how to be strong through tough situations.

Knights of Glory toured local hospitals and hospice organizations in 2008 and 2009 and in the summer of 2009, it was turned into a full length movie-musical.

The film is currently in development as a ten-part interactive web series to be used by hospitals and hospice organizations throughout the country.  It is designed to help children living in difficult situations make their own lives better through art.
