Rosanne Singer
Rosanne Singer is a teaching artist with the Maryland State Arts Council, conducting poetry residencies throughout the state with students from kindergarten through middle school. During the summers Rosanne is part of a team of artists with the Maryland Artist Teacher Institute (MATI) at the University of Maryland, collaborating with teachers and principals from around the state to use the arts to enhance the teaching of subjects across the curriculum.
Since 2005 Rosanne has been a Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator and uses poetry in various settings to enhance healing, self-expression and communication. She recently joined the roster of Studio G artists at Georgetown University Hospital and is part of a team of artists working with soldiers and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). Rosanne has given poetry readings throughout the Baltimore/Washington, DC area. Her writing appears in literary journals, and she was awarded an individual artist grant from the Maryland State Arts Council as well as a fellowship in literary, language and linguistics from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
