Nancy Gurganus
Nancy is a visual artist and alumnus of George Washington University and Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) with a BFA in Graphic Design/Illustration. After graduation, she enlisted in VISTA (currently an arm of Americorps) and served for a year in South Dade County, FL. Nancy was involved in starting a quilt-making cooperative with senior citizens and after school art camps. More recently, she studied education courses at Trinity College (Washington, DC). She currently works as a graphic designer at The AD Store, an advertising agency in Georgetown. Her personal art exploration covers a multitude of media, but concentrates on printmaking.
Nancy have been involved in conducting art experiences with pre-school and elementary-age students for over 20 years. With WVSA and Studio G for the past 10 years, she has had to chance to ignite children's creative expression in homes involving at-risk families and at Georgetown University Hospital PICU. Under the auspices of Allies in the Arts, she have had the privilege of working with our Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
