Iris N. Scott

Iris N. Schwarz has a Bachelor of Science in Television/Video Production from Hofstra University. The proud daughter of two deaf parents she has found many ways to incorporate her talents into the dramatic arts on and off stage. In High School, she was one of the founding members of Imagination Stage's Deaf Access troupe. During her summer breaks at Hofstra, she worked the stage crew for Hofstra USA productions building sets, hanging lights, and running the backstage crew. After college, while working at National Geographic Television, she partnered with Tim Reagan and Patricia Woolsey to develop short videos to be incorporated with Imagination Stage's Accessibility shows.

Her continued passion for bring the arts to everyone has brought her to volunteer with ArtStream. In the past, she worked with the Silver Spring Inclusive Acting Theatre Company and continues now to work with the KEEN music and movement classes. Her wonderful creativity started the idea of selling original cards at our inclusive shows. She has held several workshops to have actors create their own cards. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters of Education at University of Maryland to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages.
