Barton Cutter
Barton Cutter is a professional coach, mentor, writer and performance poet. Barton founded Blooming Lotus Coaching in 2009, enabling people of all abilities to connect with, listen to, and act upon their innate wisdom in order to bring about a life of greater connection and fulfillment. Barton works to empower people of all abilities to develop knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to participate as leaders within their community. Barton has a recognized expertise in youth leadership development and has worked with Easter Seals UCP to mentor youth with disabilities. He received a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona. Barton has written for The News and Observer, ABILITY Magazine, the NC Council on Developmental Disabilities, Persona Magazine, the NC Office on Disability & Health, and the NC Disability Action Network.
Together, Megan and Barton Cutter have collaborated on professional communication projects and teaching workshops focused on disability and relationships and self advocacy in their home state of North Carolina as well as nationally including the International Conference on Self Determination, People First Conference of West Virginia and numerous other local and national conferences. They are working on their first manuscript, Ink in the Wheels: Stories to Make Love Roll, due to be published in 2011.
