Sally Kinka
Sally Kinka, Co-Founder of ArtStream, is a playwright, director, performer, drama teacher, storyteller and puppeteer, with a special concentration in drama as therapy. She is currently Regional Director of ArtStream’s brand new North Carolina Branch.
Sally has 16 years teaching experience in Drama including four years with ArtStream, six years at Imagination Stage, and three at The Florida Children's Repertory Theatre. She has taught and directed ages 2-adult. She is also a playwright with over 46 pieces produced. Sally scripted and directed three ArtStream Inclusive productions for one of the Gaithersburg companies.
Sally wrote and performed in both the hospital tour of “Knights of Glory”, and the film project of the same name, which will be broadcast in 2010 to children in hospitals across the country, and has an interactive component to help promote healing. She has also worked as a Drama Therapy Specialist at NIH, Suburban Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children, Georgetown University Hospital, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women & Children, and the Nemours Cancer Clinic.
Sally holds a BFA in Theatre Arts from Lake Erie College and has studied playwriting for six years with Ernie Joselwitz and two years with Jeffrey Sweet.
