Marcie Shegogue

Marci Shegogue has been involved musically in the Washington, D.C. community for over 25 years, wearing many different hats. As an early childhood and general music teacher, she leads classes for BlackRock Center for the Arts and Sandy Spring Friends School (grades PK-1st), and has previously taught for Gymboree, Kindermusik, Curious Apple, Imagination Stage, Seneca Academy (grades PK-8th) and Washington Sports Club, among others.

 

As a musical and vocal director, she has been involved in hundreds of community, high school, college and professional theater productions, teaching music and lyrics to children and adults of all ages, and conducting pit orchestras. Most recently she has worked on productions for Musical Theater Center, Damascus Theater Company, Blake High School, Sandy Spring Theater Group and the Har Shalom Players. Favorite shows include "Seussical!, "High School Musical," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Snoopy".

She also teaches private piano lessons, is an accomplished pianist, freelances as a graphic designer, and is the music director and cantor for the Interfaith Families Project in Silver Spring.

Marci holds a BA in Communications from University of Maryland at College Park. She lives in Germantown with her husband, two daughters and six turtles.
