Emilia O'Connor

Emilia O'Connor is a co-founder, board member, and artist for ArtStream.  She has a M.A. in Education and Human Development with a focus in Transition Special Education and a B.A. in theatre. She has worn practically every theatre "hat" and has been an actor, director/asst. director, teacher, stage manager, vocal coach, and techie. She started her theater career at an early age with B.A.P.A.'s Imagination Stage and eventually came to work for them and found how much she loved working with students who have special needs. She began her theatre studies at NYU with the Playwrights Horizons Studio where she completed her two year primary studio training.

She has a conversational ability in ASL and hopes to learn and work more with the deaf, as well as put her fluency in Spanish to good use. She has explored and enjoyed the world of playback theatre and also enjoys working with K.E.E.N. on their music program. She teaches classes in voice, music and movement, drama, and musical theatre, card making and directs the Silver Spring Inclusive Company.
