About Challenge America Grants

The Challenge America category is unique because it supports programs that extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations, whose access to the arts is limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, or disability.

For the first cycle of 2017, The National Endowment for the Arts has distributed over $30 million to support the arts.
